What Training Do I Need?
We have designed a range of Training Needs Analysis forms to help you review your learning and development requirements. The forms can then be used, by IT Training, to help identify a solution to your training needs. The forms are available as live forms, the results of which will be sent immediately to IT training, alongside the materials for each Office application Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio, or to download and print from the Training Analysis Forms page
E-learning resources are useful for any level of user in that they provide an immediate training solution. E-learning offers an instant targeted solution, without having to book, arrange and leave the office to attend a traditional course.
The University is now able to offer a wide range of courses for Microsoft software products through the Microsoft Imagine Academy. To make use of these resources use these two articles to sign-up for an account and then access the Imagine Academy resources:

Classroom Based Training
Before considering classroom based training please use the Training Needs Analysis forms and consider the e-learning options. IT Training provide classroom based sessions on Microsoft Office applications although there are limited spaces. If you have a group who have specific needs then please email IT Training and we can consider a tailored solution, or recommend individual or group training by a local provider.
All IT Training courses are delivered on Microsoft Office 2013.
Current Microsoft office Training Offered by IT Training
PowerPoint Introduction : this session is designed for beginners to learn the basics in PowerPoint and includes creating a new presentation, applying transitions, modifying a presentation, working with images and applying animation.
PowerPoint Advanced : this session builds on existing PowerPoint skills and includes Master Slides, Action Buttons, linking to Web pages and files and inserting Videos
Excel Getting Started: this session is designed for absolute beginners to learn the very basics to get started in Excel and includes creating a new spreadsheet, basic formulas, autofill and formatting cells.
Excel Intermediate : this session is designed to build on existing basic knowledge of Excel. It will include working with functions and formulas, applying conditional formatting, using charts and graphs lists and filters and integrating Excel with other applications.
Excel Advanced : this builds on existing Excel skills and includes linking Worksheets and Workbooks, simple Macros, working with sub-totals and pivot tables, setting printing areas and protecting worksheets from change.
Word Intermediate : this builds on existing Word skills and includes Headers, Footers and Section Breaks, working with Styles, Document Templates and working with Tables and Graphics.
Word Advanced : this builds on existing Word skills and includes the Mail Merge Function, Table of Contents, Bookmarks, Footnotes and Endnotes and creating simple Macros.
Short Sessions: In addition, IT Training have scheduled a number short training sessions based on specific topics in Microsoft Office applications. When available, they are advertised here and via the main schedule page .
