The University is, for the first time, taking part in the Higher Education Academy's UK Engagement Survey (UKES) delivered by Bristol Online Surveys.
The survey is aimed at first and second-year undergraduate students and will take between five and ten minutes to complete.
On Monday 8 May 2017, a link to the survey was sent to first and second-year undergraduates who are studying a programme of at least 60 credits this year. This survey is open until Friday 16 June 2017.
On completing the survey, respondents are automatically entered into a prize draw with the chance of winning an Amazon Voucher: 5 x £50 and 20 x £20 are available.
Purpose of the survey
The survey findings will provide the University with feedback about how you are challenged and encouraged by your studies. It is a tool for understanding how you experience your course, how engaged you are by the teaching and how supported you are in your learning and development.
The UKES asks for your experience of the following key areas:
- Critical thinking
- Learning with others
- Interacting with staff
- Reflecting and connecting
- Course challenge
- Engagement with research
- Staff-student partnership
- Skills development (hard and soft skills)
- How students spend time
Accessing the survey
The email inviting you to complete the survey, takes you to the survey platform via a personalised url. This is the only way you can access the survey and you do not need any further information to complete it.
If you have any problems accessing the survey, contact the Department of Curriculum and Quality Enhancement (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Findings from the survey
The University is sent the results at the end of July, therefore we can analyse the data and start to respond to what you are telling us while you are still completing your studies. The results will be made available through MyPort.
