This article contains instructions explaining how to restore any files or folders that have been deleted/changed on the N and K Drives. This can be useful if you have accidentally deleted or saved over a file and you wish to get the file or the 'old version' back.

The following instructions were produced using Windows 7.

Finding and restoring a deleted file

  1. Click on Start -> Computer, and navigate to where the missing/changed file was in.

  2. Start Menu

  3. Right click on the white area in the folder and click 'Properties'.
  4. Window

  5. Click the 'Previous Versions' tab, here you will see a list of folders. These folders are the same folder captured at different periods in time.
  6. Previous Versions

  7. Select a time just before the file was deleted/changed and then click 'Open'. This will 'go back in time' and open a previous version of the folder from the date and time specified.
  8. Restore window

  9. Find the file you have deleted or changed and simply drag it into the 'present day' version of the folder. You may also copy and paste the file if this is easier.
  10. a.Copy

    b.Paste

    c.Restored File
