This article provides instructions on how to install printers on University Windows 7 PCs and laptops.
Step 1: Click Start, then Devices and Printers (can also be accessed from Control Panel). If you are on a laptop, ensure you are connected to the University network before continuing.
Step 2: Click Add a printer, towards the top-left of the Devices and Printers control panel window.
Step 3: Click Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.
Step 4: On the following screen, all available networked printers are shown alphabetically. Each printer begins with PR-, followed by the building name and the printer location. Select the printer you would like to install, and click Next
NOTE: If you are asked to provide administrator password during the above step, please contact the IS Service Desk for assistance.
Step 5: Follow any additional steps in the printer installation window; these will vary depending on the printer. You may be asked if you wish to set the printer as default, or may just be told that the installation was successful.
If you have a printer already installed remove the old printer.
