Course aims:

To introduce the concepts, terminology and processes for unit registration and to provide the user with a functional understanding of the screens associated with creating and maintaining student unit registrations.

Course pre-requisites

Participants must have successfully completed the SR01 View Student Records course and have an understanding of the role that the system will take in the User’s working environment.

Course objectives

By the end of the course the user should be:

  • Aware of the difference between core and optional units
  • Aware of how students are automatically registered onto core units
  • Aware of the importance of attendance groups and cohorts
  • Able to register students to the appropriate curriculum
  • Able to manage non-standard unit registrations, e.g. RPL
  • Able to attach an attendance group to a unit registration
  • Aware of how the Student Records system displays a student's credit count and its relevance
  • Able to correctly administer unit registrations relating to a student's:
    • change of unit options
    • course transfer
    • withdrawal
  • Aware of the concept of a planned curriculum, and the resources available to undertake this task
  • Aware of the Discoverer Report (960) Pre-BOE Credit Checking Report, available for data checking of unit registrations
