Course aims:

To raise awareness of the Student Records database and its data and terminology. To provide the user with a functional understanding of the screens available within View access.

Course pre-requisites

A general appreciation of Windows and an understanding of the role that Student Records will take in the User's working environment.

Course objectives

By the end of the course the user should be:

  • Aware of system security and its importance
  • Aware of relevant contacts and support routes, e.g. Student Records System Support Officers, Faculty Advisors
  • Able to access, navigate and exit the Student Records system
  • Aware of general Student Records terminology and the data structure, e.g. course codes, unit codes, academic year, course instances, academic stage, course year, number of years, attendance groups
  • Competent in the execution of basic course, unit, and student enquiries.

As training will result in a user being given access to one of the University's corporate systems, bookings will only be accepted through the appropriate Student Records Representative.
