The Student Records system is used by the University to manage a student's personal and academic details and encompasses areas such as:
Student Records also provides information to other University systems via a variety of interfaces, e.g. Timetabling, University Cards & Library. In addition, data extracted from Student Records is used to meet many of the institutional statistical requirements such as the Higher Education Statistical Agency (HESA) returns.

Student Records Training
IT Training offers a suite of training courses to support the initial use of the system. Please note that SR01 View Student Records is a pre-requisite of all the other courses.
The University password policy states that passwords must be changed a minimum of once a year. To change your Student Records password please use the smartlink to the Self-Service application on the Student Records Main Menu screen. The password must be at least 8 characters, and contain a combination of numbers and letters. 'Special' characters, for example &^%$, will not be accepted. For those with Discoverer Desktop access only, the application can be accessed via this link Password Self-Service Application.
Discoverer Desktop Training
Discoverer Desktop is the reporting tool for both the Admissions and Student Records modules of the Student Records system. Booking via the Student Records Representative is not required.
Please be aware that Discoverer will not normally work on wifi or off campus. However, you can request this access by completing the 'Request Discoverer VPN Access' form available from the IS Service Desk.

Academic Registry provide training on the processes supporting: Assessment mark input, Unit Assessment Boards, and Board of Examiners. For further information contact SRBT@port.ac.uk.
