Files/folders can be restored from your N drive for up to 3 weeks after they have been deleted. You do not need to contact the Service Desk to restore your files.

Snapshot times

A snapshot is a copy of your N drive. Snapshots are taken of your N drive at the following times:

  • 11:00
  • 14:00
  • Midnight

As snapshots are taken at intervals, any work modified between the snapshot times will not be recoverable. Therefore you should ensure you are vigilant at saving your work.

Snapshot backups

  • 3 copies of daytime snapshots, ie. 11:00, 14:00 yesterday and 11:00 today
  • 5 copies of night time snapshots, ie. midnight for the previous 5 days
  • 3 copies of weekly snapshots, ie. the last 3 Sunday Nights
