This article will explain how you can go about changing something in the University.

‘Have Your Say’ is the democratic process at the Union that enables students to get their voice heard and changes made. Every student can have a say on the Union and the University by attending and/or submitting an idea to one of our ‘Have Your Say’ Zones. These are regular meetings that allow students to discuss and vote on ideas that improve the student experience.

There are five Faculty and seven Union Zones. Students can submit their ideas online for changes and/or improvements, using the online submission form or in person at a Zone meeting.

Once an idea has been voted on it will journey on to the ‘Union Actioning Body’ (UAB) where ideas are put into action and challenged where appropriate. The UAB also supports these ideas and ensures that they are working effectively. Additionally the ‘Have Your Say’ process ensures that our elected Student officers and Sabbatical officers are held accountable through a monthly online blog and termly forum.

For more information on the different Zones, UAB and Accountability, check out the Union’s How It Works section on the Have Your Say pages.
