This section will provide important information on how the University can help/advise students with debt problems.

The Student Finance Centre has two financial advisers who offer confidential information, advice and guidance on debt related issues.

They can offer debt counselling and can contact your creditors to renegotiate your monthly repayments for you. In the past they have helped students negotiate affordable monthly payments with their creditors, they will always work to what you can afford and are comfortable with. They will be committed to helping you all the way whilst you are a student.

Their approach is straightforward – they will listen to you and provide completely free and confidential debt advice whatever your situation. If for any reason they are unable to help they will endeavour to point you in the right direction of someone that can.

Debt can be very stressful and you may not want to speak to family or friends about it, but they promise to be impartial and non-judgemental, and everything will be done in complete confidence. Their only aim is to help you get back on track and in control of your finances.

If you are experiencing debt problems, please contact the Student Finance Centre.
