This article will explain the funding available to home (UK) students on the following courses:

  • BSc (Hons) Diagnostic or Therapeutic Radiography
  • BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy
  • DipHE Operating Department Practice
  • BN Adult Nursing

Please note, this information only applies to you if you have already started your course (or will be starting the BN Adult Nursing in February 2017).

Most home (UK) and EU students studying on an NHS-funded course will have their tuition fees paid by the NHS.

Home students can apply for help with living costs in the form of a reduced rate of maintenance loan (£2,324 for non final year students living away from home, £1,811 for final year students) through Student Finance England. They can also apply for a non means-tested grant and means-tested bursary from the NHS.

Applications for the grant and bursary are made online using the BOSS (Bursary Online Support System) which can be found out www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk

The NHS website can also be used to check personal eligibility, student status and estimate bursary awards.

For help with your applications or any other aspect of NHS funding, contact the Student Finance Centre.
