This article provides information regarding grants for students with dependants.If you are a full-time undergraduate student from England and you have children or other financial dependants you may be eligible for additional support from Student Finance England alongside your maintenance loan.

Childcare Grant

Depending on your assessed household income you can apply for a grant to cover up to 85% of the cost of registered childcare (subject to a maximum grant of £159 per week for one child or £273 per week for two or more children).

Parents' Learning Allowance

This is a grant of up to £1,617 (depending on your household income), available if you are financially responsible for a child under the age of 16 (or 19 if they are in full-time, non-advanced education).

Adult Dependants Grant

This is a grant of up to £2,834 per year (depending on your household income) available if you are financially responsible for your partner or spouse.

Special Support Grant - only for students who started their course in 2015 or earlier

If you are a lone parent, you should have been awarded the special support grant instead of a maintenance grant. If you receive this grant, it is disregarded when calculating your entitlement to benefits.
