This article explain what is included in your halls of residence fees.

If you are wondering what is included in your accommodation fee, it varies according to which halls of residence you are staying in, where they are located, and what facilities they include. However, all accommodation fees will cover the cost of your room, heating, lighting, basic insurance, wifi, ResNet, and the use of halls facilities during the occupancy period.

If you are living in catered or part-catered accommodation, your accommodation fee will also include meals as part of the fees, and has already been adjusted to take account of the non-catered vacation periods.
