Assessments for Specific Learning Differences. (E.g. Dyslexia/Dyspraxia)

This article includes information about the process for students who have or suspect they may have a specific learning difference such as Dyslexia, but do not have appropriate evidence.

Psychological Assessment

All students are encouraged to obtain a full assessment before they arrive or return to University. This ensures that there are no delays to any application process or support requirements.

An independent Chartered Educational Psychologist agrees a limited number visits to the University each academic year. The Psychologist can assess current students referred by ASDAC.

For advice about a referral, contact ASDAC on asdac@port.ac.uk, telephone 02392 843462 or call in person to the 3rd Floor Nuffield Centre.

Assessments undertaken privately

The information below will give you details on where you can seek assessment outside of the University but is not an endorsement of any of the organisations. If you are intending to apply for the Disabled Students Allowance, then please ask the practitioner to ensure the report meets the necessary criteria.
