This article provides details about arriving at the University late.
Your course start date is included in your offer letter. Late arrival is not advised and will be detrimental to your studies, however, in the event you are not able to arrive by your course start date, please see the guidance below:
If you are not going to be able to arrive/register and start at the University on or before the start date of your course, you will need to get approval for 'late arrival/registration' from Academic Registry. Please go to the Late Arrival/Registration Student Request page and click the appropriate button at the bottom (either “New or Continuing Student” or “Applicant”) to access the form.
Once you have logged in, fill in all the required fields giving details of when you expect to arrive in Portsmouth. Your request will then be forwarded to the relevant people and you will receive an email advising whether or not your request has been granted, and if it hasn’t, why not.
For late arrivals starting their courses in September/October 2016, the application is open from 1 August 2016 to 30 October 2016. After these dates please email email@example.com to make your late arrival/registration request.
For late arrivals starting their courses in January/February 2017, the application is open from 1 December 2016 to 12 February 2017. After these dates, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to make your late arrival/registration request.
If you have been offered University accommodation, please email email@example.com to inform them of your late arrival, and ask for advice on what will happen, if anything, about your accommodation.
