This article will explain the procedure for a thesis submission.

It is strongly recommended that you use Turnitin before submitting your final draft of your thesis to your First Supervisor for agreement that it is ready to be examined. Turnitin is an internet-based plagiarism prevention service that can be used to check that your work is correctly referenced and can be found in the Graduate School GSDP Moodle site along with

guidance and videos on how to use it. As part of your appendix or annexes of your thesis you need to include:

  • the letter from the Ethics Committee confirming the favourable opinion;
  • the Form UPR16 declaring the ethical conduct of the research.
The presentation of the thesis should follow the essential points (see student handbook section 13.3), but it does not need a hardcover at this stage. You are asked to submit one soft bound copy of the thesis (e.g. spiral or cloth bound with acetate cover) for each examiner to the Research Section, Department of Student and Academic Administration by your deadline date. If you are both a PGRS and a permanent member of staff at the University you should contact the Research Section, Department of Student and Academic Administration for advice regarding the number of copies of your thesis that you will need to submit.
