Student Watch is a Hampshire Constabulary initiative open to all University of Portsmouth students as a volunteering opportunity.

What do I get from Student Watch?

By joining Student Watch, you will help make Portsmouth an even safer city and improve community relations. Being a part of Student Watch is also a great volunteering experience that will enhance your employability. Moreover, you will also:

  • Develop global communication skills
  • Enhance your confidence
  • Receive a generic reference at the end of the scheme
  • Have a good knowledge of the University, student peers and University practices

What's Student Watch about?

You will be part of multi-agency initiatives using the power of volunteering to:

  • tackle local issues or concerns
  • improve the life of others in the city of Portsmouth
  • help set up events and feedback on results
  • help keep your peers safe

How do I get more information/get involved?

The application period for Student Watch starts in September. We promote it centrally through Purple Door with the links for how to apply. You can refer students to their My Purple Door accounts via this website.
