This page details important information on locking your bike.

Here are some ways in which to improve the safety of your bike:

  • Don’t rely on busy areas and always lock your bike.
  • If possible, use two different types of lock including one D lock.
  • Always use a D lock rather than a chain and padlock even in secure compounds.
  • Lock your bike to an immovable object, preferably a bike stand.
  • Ensure your bike can't slip down and be damaged, or be lifted and carried off.
  • Choose the most secure bike stand available.
  • Take your valuables with you.
  • Use gadgets such as lights, pump and cycle computer.
  • Get your bicycle registered and marked.
  • If your bicycle is stolen, report it to Halls reception or Security, who will assist you.
