This article will include information for international students about the help available to get discounted rail travel across the UK.

Who is eligible for a railcard?

All University students are eligible for a railcard.  As an International Student we can help you to obtain these easily.

What railcard do I need?

The Global Office can validate an international student’s application for a Young Person’s railcard (for ages 16-25).

Full-time students aged 26+ are eligible, but will need a passport-sized photograph for their card.

What do I need to do?

To apply for a railcard you will need to provide us with the following:

  • Bring your student ID

  • Complete and sign the relevant section of the application form.

  • Visit the Global Office in Nuffield Centre and ask to have your form stamped

Forms for applications are available at stations and in the Students’ Union.

For more information on the 16-25 railcard see the National Rail website.
