This article will include information for international students about the help available to get discounted rail travel across the UK.

Who is eligible for a railcard

All University students are eligible for a railcard.  As an International Student we can help you to obtain these easily.

What railcard do I need?

The International team can validate an international student’s application for a Young Person’s railcard (for ages 16-25).

Full-time students aged 26+ are eligible, but will need a passport-sized photograph for their card.

What do I need to do?

To apply for a railcard you will need to provide us with the following:

  • Bring your student ID
  • Complete and sign the relevant section of the application form.
  • Visit the International Office and ask to stamp your form

Forms for applications are available at stations and in the Students’ Union.

For more information on the 16-15 railcard see the National Rail website.
