Migrating from Lynda

On the 1st August 2019 Lynda.com is rebranding to LinkedIn Learning.

It has the same excellent content you will have got used to from Lynda over the last couple of years but it will have a new, improved interface, better recommendations and it will be easier to identify skills to help with your course and employment opportunities.

When activating your new LinkedIn Learning account you will be given a choice of whether you want to link your LinkedIn Learning profile with your existing LinkedIn profile (if you have one). This will make course recommendations more relevant to your skills and experience. It also means that when leaving the University you keep your learning history which can be demonstrated to potential employers.

What do you need to do?

Nothing yet. We will be sending out communications via email and UoP News. If you have an active Lynda account three automatic emails will be generated:

  • To let you know we are upgrading
  • Just after the upgrade is completed with a link to authenticate your new LinkedIn Learning account
  • A reminder a week or two later for anyone that has not yet done so

Once you have authenticated your LinkedIn Learning account you will have access to all the same content as on Lynda, your learning history will have been migrated and any playlists you created will have moved to Collections.

If you have added links to Lynda courses or playlists to Moodle or any web pages, LinkedIn are advising that these will redirect. These redirects will be in place for around a year, so longer term, links need to be updated.
