Have you registered for this academic year?

Students are attached to a unit on Moodle based upon their registration with the Student Record database which is updated by course administrators.

If you have not registered for the current academic year (1st August to 31st July) then you should complete online registration or seek advice from your course administrator. After registration your Moodle units should be available within 48 hours.

Has your course curriculum been set?

This will be done by your course administrator, as well as attaching a unit to your curriculum on Student Records they should also enter an attendance group. Your unit and attendance group should be displayed on your timetable and will look something like U12345-19SC-SEP

If you cannot see this information on your timetable please contact your course administrator to check that it has been correctly set up. After this has been done there may be a delay of up to 24 hours.

Does a unit exist on Moodle and is it visible?

Can any of your fellow students see the Moodle unit? If not it might be worth asking your lecturer if you should have access to a Moodle unit and check that they have unhidden the unit from when they were developing it.


It is January, where are my Spring teaching block units?

Your Spring teaching block units may not have been unhidden by your lecturer yet so please check with them. Note that the year contained in the title of some units reflects the academic year (August to July) rather than the calendar year.
