Augment and enhance your learning outside class with the Learning Resources Centre (LRC), at the heart of the school of Languages and applied Linguistics and available to students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Facilities include:

  • Networked PCs and wireless laptop area, with facilities for printing, scanning and photocopying on site.
  • An extensive collection of foreign films, documentaries other study material, with DVD and TV viewing stations in the Centre.
  • A large collection of books, including graded course material for teachers, self-access texts for students and reference resources such as dictionaries and grammar books and magazines.
  • The resources centre incorporates a fully supported multi-media workshop where students are able to create rich presentation and assignment materials. 
  • Support and guidance is available from the technical support staff.

Technical Support Staff in the School of Languages and Applied Linguistics

The Technical Support Team are located in the Learning Resources Centre in Park Building. The LRC team offer a wide range of services including: IT support, technical guidance and resource loans. The team are also able to deliver workshops and support for a range of IT and audio-visual topics. Just ask for help at the Reception or email parklrc@port.ac.uk.
