Letters and small packages collection points
Letters and small packages that have not been signed for will be kept in the mailbox with your room number on.
Bateson and Harry Law Halls, Rees Hall and Burrell House
All mail delivered in the above halls is distributed to the appropriate mail boxes located in the foyer of each building, for which you have a key on your keyring.
If you live in one of our Third party provider halls (Unite or The Student Housing Company) please refer to the relevant halls websites for information.
Parcels, recorded and special delivery items

Reception staff will accept parcels and special delivery items on your behalf and email you to collect them from reception. Please bring your halls ID card or Student ID card as proof of identity address with you
Rees Hall and Burrell House
Reception staff will accept parcels and special delivery items on your behalf and email you to collect them from reception. Please bring your halls ID card or Student ID card as proof of identity address with you.
Important:
- Please do not come to reception until you have received the mail from your halls team, as courier companies can take up to 24 hours to deliver your parcel after they have informed you that your parcel has arrived.
- Please also note the collection times available.
Money or valuable documents
If you are receiving money or valuable documents, including bank cards, please request that they are sent by registered or recorded mail to ensure their safe delivery.
Food parcels from overseas
There are rules about bringing food into the United Kingdom. These are legal issues you or your family need to be aware of. You can find more information at the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs website.
Please note:
- Illegal or suspicious food parcels may be reported to Customs and Excise.
- Halls will not accept packages containing raw meat, fruit or vegetable matter.

It is important to write your address clearly and correctly to avoid your post being returned.
Mail when leaving halls
When you leave your hall at the end of your contract, any mail received will be returned to the sender. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have all mail re-directed in good time.
